FATEMA E. F. BURKEY, Esq.
Fatema (“Tema”) is an attorney licensed in Pennsylvania and Washington. She grew up in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania and graduated from Georgetown University in 1998 with a degree in French and English. Tema worked in the medical publishing field in New York City before attending law school at Washington University in St. Louis. After graduating in 2003, Tema joined Chimicles & Tikellis, a complex litigation firm, where she practiced for several years before relocating with her family to Mercer Island, Washington in 2015. In 2017, Tema joined Mercer Island Law Group, a boutique employment litigation firm, where she practiced for two years. Tema obtained her Washington real estate license in 2019 and joined the Gottesman Chapin Group with Engel & Völkers, an international real estate advisory services firm. Tema serves on several nonprofit boards including the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce, the Mercer Island Schools Foundation, The FilmSchool of Seattle, the Seattle chapter of Georgetown University's Alumni Admissions Committee, and the Seattle Regional Cabinet for Washington University in St. Louis.
Tema joined the Board of Trustees for the Mary E. Groff Charitable Trust in 2003, in the role of Secretary-Treasurer, and has served as President since 2010.
